It is a place where many bloody battles were fought for honor. The best thing with 'Mathania Mirch' is its very unique taste and bloody red color. This are many cuisines, in which this chilli is being used in India and there is one dish which cannot be prepared without 'Mathania Mirch'. Its name is 'Laal Maans' (Red goat meat). I have tasted Laal Maans once in my life and I can say that still I cannot forget the deliciousness of it.
The attachment of locals of 'Mathania' town with this spice is very much that they sprinkle ashes of their ancestors in the farms of 'Mathania Mirch'.
The sad thing with 'Mathania Mirch' is that this historic spice on the verge of extinction because of changing weather conditions and soil and most importantly because of its very low demand.
